Year-long experience
Develop deep professional experiences by spending a year interning while simultaneously studying.

The CzechMates Year-Long Program runs from the middle of September to the latter part of May. This opportunity enables students to continue earning credits while becoming an intrical part of an organization.
Students study in 3-4 courses/semester while interning approximately 15 hours a week.
Not only did my internship give me the opportunity to experience a professional environment in a foreign country, but the amount of growth I experienced outside of the internship was truly life-changing.

As part of the CzechMates year program, students also enroll in an internship seminar, ensuring that their professional experience is supported academically and remains credit-bearing.
Students spend 400 hours working at their internship site over the year. At the start of the internship, students outline projects and outcomes together with their supervisor ensuring an opportunity to create a meaningful addition to the organization.
Our team meets with each student during the application process to discuss their goals and determine the best internship opportunity for them.

What students say
Learning to navigate a new country, meeting people from all sorts of places, and becoming more confident along the way are all things that I will cherish forever.I’m particularly glad I chose to stay for the entirety of the year because Brno stopped feeling like a place I was visiting and started feeling like home. I’m incredibly grateful to Czechmates for helping make that possible and for giving me experiences and relationships that I know I’ll continue to carry with me.
